Guides

The guide is a compilation of information originating from different sources which the Centre has assembled to reflect the current state-of-the-art for responding to marine chemical emergencies, with the hope that the final product is a workable guide to the end-user.

At sea emergency guide

The Sea Emergency Guide provides background information for the identification of spilled chemicals. It supports decision makers in charge of response operations to adapt their response technics, responders and crew safety measures, remedial actions in relation to the conditions and hazards related to the spilled chemical. The document is intended for the response personnel, in particular decision-makers, who have a basic maritime and technical background.

Shore line emergency guide (ERG 2020)

The Emergency Response Guidebook was developed by Transport Canada, the US Department of Transportation and the Secretariat of Transport and Communications of Mexico, with help from the Centro de Informaciòn Quìmica para Emergencias of Argentina. This guidebook provides first responders with a go-to manual to help deal with hazmat transportation accidents during the critical first 30 minutes.

Inter-regional Marine Response Manual

The objective of this Marine HNS Response Manual is to provide operational guidance for first responders and decision-makers during a maritime incident at sea or in port involving HNS. The manual does not cover all aspects of an incident involving HNS, but specifically addresses relevant offshore and onshore spill response techniques (but excludes topics such as search and rescue, salvage, medical treatment).
